We’ve all hit highs and lows in life. For most of us, it takes getting to a low before you find the courage and strength to make a change and get back on top. Last night we shared our stories of hitting lows and how we fought back. Not always something people want to talk about, but easy to do with the right people around and when you know you’re not in that place anymore. We all hit bumps in the road but how we bounce back defines who we are. About 6.8 miles into our 7 mile run that little voice of doubt in my head got the best of me and I quit. I don’t do it often but I stopped to walk. I took about 10 steps before realizing I just hit a low, and instead of pushing through, I took the easy way out and gave up. As soon as I realized that, I picked it back up and finished strong at 1:04 for seven miles, my last two miles being the fastest. It felt good to finish strong in tough condition, heat and hills. The lows makes the highs that much sweeter.
From all the stories shared last night, and me giving up on the run, I’ve learned you hit bottom when you can acknowledge where you are — at a low. And you can get back on top when you commit to making changes, and never give up. Otherwise, you’ll just keep going lower. Go give today your all, and don’t give up.
I could remember something I pinned on Pinterest that summed up most of our talk while running. I’m living my life, and that makes me smile. :)
Juicing was mentioned on the run, too. I was sharing my new favorite juice recipe but I haven’t shared it here yet. I’m so happy I planted herbs in pots on my patio this year. They were so easy to grow and I’ve been able to use them in everything, especially in juices and smoothies.
Hope you enjoy.
