Peppermint Patty Green Smoothie

Peppermint Patty Green Smoothie

St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner, so it seems fitting to have a peppermint patty green smoothie for Smoothie Saturday!  This smoothie has all the same flavors of a peppermint patty you would buy in the store, but without all the artificial ingredients and tons more nutrition.  I used fresh mint over peppermint extract when making this smoothie.  You might think mint is just an herb to add flavor but it is loaded with nutritional benefits.  Hope you enjoy this smoothie and have  a wonderful weekend!

MINT BENEFITS:

  • contains good amounts of vitamin A, B 12, C, folic acid, iron, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, selenium and zinc
  • relieve symptoms of cold and flu
  • helps clean the blood
  • reduce symptoms of indigestion, heartburn, IBS, and stomach cramps
  • contains many antioxidants, which protect the body against forming cancerous cells
  • fights bad breath

Yum! Love all the ingredients, except the chocolate :) I’m probably the only woman who does not care for chocolate. Pinning this!

WOW! This smoothie tastes delicious! Since I didn´t have coconut milk I replaced it by regular milk (1/2 cup) and vanilla sauce (1/4 cup) … it was a hit! Thanks for sharing!

Hi, I’m drinking an adaptation of this now and it’s great! A new breakfast smoothie for me. Mine has my standard tofu base + chia + flax and then I used everything else. A note that mint is a herb which has a slight temporary reductive effect on lactation. I’m nursing a toddler who is well-established on solids so it’s no big deal. Thanks for your site and inspiration on healthy family cooking. I like your Mason jar ideas too. Cheers!
