After being out of town last week, I felt the need to detox a little. Vacation, well, it was vacation — a glass of wine, or maybe two, with friends at dinner, and a few too many truffles from the conveniently located chocolate shop. I wouldn’t change a thing about it, but when I came home I knew it was time to get things back to normal.
A few things always come to mind when I think about a smoothie for detox, lots of green, lemon, and parsley. I think a little mango makes every smoothie better, and the high amounts of vitamin C and fiber are always a plus! This smoothie certainly isn’t as sweet as some of the others on the site but I think you’ll be surprised how great it is even with all greens and so little fruit. The parsley adds such a great flavor and mixes well with the mango and lemon. If you’re not so sure, you could try fresh mint so it’s a little sweeter, but promise me you’ll try the parsley first.

| Mango Parsley Green Smoothie |
- juice of one lemon
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 mango
- 1/2 frozen banana
- 1 handful of parsley, about 1/4 cup
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1 cup kale
- 2 ice cubes
- Add all the ingredients to the blender
- Start on a low speed, slowly increasing to high
- Blend until smooth, about 1 minute
